Day 1 - Rigby - Reno, Nevada

Our first destination was Reno, Nevada.  It was actually pretty cold and snowing when we got to Reno. On any trip we take one of the highlights is swimming in the different Hotel pools.  The kids had a lot of fun relaxing and goofing off in the pool!

Spring Break 2012

This year for Spring Break we decided that we would take the kids on a road trip.  Our kids are at a perfect age to do a road trip and we have so much fun with them.  Years ago Justin and I took a quick road trip to San Francisco up to Portland, and thought this would be a lot of fun for our family.  We started here in Rigby, off to Reno, San Francisco and many fun stops all the way up to Seattle, WA.  We had many beautiful, fun, priceless experiences on this trip.

1st Place @ Science Fair!

Kenzie did a wonderful job on her Science Fair project.  She came up with the idea entirely on her own.  She was trying to determine which kinda sun block offered more protection-lotion-vs-spray sunblock.   It was so much fun to watch her do this project formulate a game plan and execute it very well.  Kenzie placed 1st place in her grade, we are so proud of her and her hard work and dedication on this project!

Brayden Recieves the Aaronic Priesthood

Today was one those days that makes a parent very proud of their child.  What a beautiful, exciting, special day we had.  The day started off pretty exciting as a new Bishopric was called for our Ward.  Bishop Wray was sustained as our new Bishop, Dan Wadsworth and Kim Hansen were called as his councilors.  Ken Fullmer as Executive Secretary and Justin was called as Ward Clerk.

The best part of the day was when Brayden received the Aaronic Priesthood from Justin.  Grandpa Murdoch, and our close friend Al Knutson were able to stand in.   Brayden definitely felt the importance of this ordinance and the spirit was really strong.  Brayden your testimony and example strengthens all of us.  We are proud of you!

Alice in Wonderland

Kenzie decided to try out for the fourth and fifth grade school play, she was given the part as the Duchess.  McKenzie worked hard and was very dedicated.  They had play practice at least two days a week and also a big dress rehearsal.  Aura Boone was the play director, and Kara Smith was her assistant, they both did a wonderful job.  We are so proud of Kenzie, she had all of her lines memorized perfectly and she did an amazing job.  Kenzie really enjoys participating in plays and looks forward too more in the future.  Good Job Kenzie we are so proud of you, you looked fabulous, and did an incredible job.  We love you sis!

Rigby Basketball Takes State!!!

Ali is getting baptized on Saturday, so the crazy Mecham family makes a made dash and watch the first games in Boise then drive, drive, and drive again to Pleasant Grove.  We were able to watch the state game on the internet, not as great as in person but still exciting.  Good Job Rigby!

Man -vs- Food

Our family enjoy's watching different food shows one we have watched is Man-vs-Food, since we were headed to Boise we decided to look up some restaurants in Boise that were featured on this show.  We decided to eat at Rockies Diner, the food was good and the atmosphere was a lot of fun!  Something fun to do between all of the basketball games.

State Capitol Visit

Nothing like a mini-vacation in Boise, Idaho for the state basketball tournament.  Kenzie is in fourth grade and studying Idaho history this year, we decided it would be fun to tour the capital building and learn first-hand the stuff she is learning in school.  We all really enjoyed going through the state capital building and learned a lot there.  It was a nice day so we also enjoyed exploring some nearby parks.  Good way to kill some time between basketball games.  Go Rigby!

State Basketball in Boise

One of our family's favorite wintertime activities is attending Rigby High School basketball games.  We love the energy and excitement at these games!   Nothing like hometown pride and support!  Our family has been attending RHS games since we moved here.  There is nothing like the spirit and enthusiasm at state basketball. We love supporting our team up in Boise, we also enjoy a little mini-vacation, the kids always love spending time in the pool goofing off!  Nothing is better than being together and having fun as a family.
