Derby Continued...

Here is Brayden's derby car! His car did pretty good, and he had a blast! The first race we were all a little nervous when Brayden's car went flying off the track and almost took out an innocent little scout. The wolves and bears and their cars

Derby Madness!

Tomorrow night is our annual Pinewood Derby, they boys have been working hard on Brayden's car. They have spent the last week or so cutting it out, sanding it, painting it, repainting it, fixing the wheels, and having a lot of fun. We'll show you the final product soon!

Student of the Month

Brayden received the student of the month award. His award was for Academics. The certificate said Brayden: maintains high grades, he has great organizational skills, he strives for the best inside and outside the classroom, he assists the teacher and other students in activities, and he completes assignments efficiently and correctly. Congratulations Brayden we are so proud of you!

Brayden's 9th Birthday!

We like to celebrate our Birthdays for at least a week or so. Sunday we had Grandma and Grandpa Mecham up for dinner and had a party with them. Last week we had a Birthday party with the Murdoch family. This weekend Bray is having one of his buddies over for a party.
McKenzie saved enough money to purchase Brayden a John Deere truck for his Birthday. McKenzie was so excited to give her gift to Brayden, Brayden loved the truck. He has had a fun Birthday celebration/week/weeks.

Riding the Horses

Brayden and Grandpa McKenzie
Gotta love Timp!
A trip to Utah is always complete when Grandpa gets the horses saddled up so the kids can go for a ride. (Thanks for the pictures Katherine. ) I think we've discovered who our cowboy of the family is. I don't have a picture of Max on the horse, but he spooked the horse while he was riding and the horse got a little jumpy. Grandpa quickly calmed down the horse, but Max was a little disappointed he loved the excitement when the horse got jumpy. He told me when he got off he was trying to get the horse to jump again. Crazy kid!

Birthday Celebrations!

Brayden and Kamryn (March B-days)All the cousins
Since we were all together we decided to celebrate Brayden and Kamryn's birthdays. We usually all get together up here and go to the Rodeo, but the Rodeo has been moved to April so we celebrated in Utah. The kids all had tons of fun playing together! Brayden loves all his gifts -thank you!

Day Trip to Manti

It has been awhile since we've made the trip down to Manti. I absolutely love the drive down to Sanpete County. We had a nice visit with Grandpa, Kate, and Susie. Kate is always so good to play with the kids, they love spending time with her. We had a nice time. After we visited with Grandpa we drove around Snow College, boy is it changing, but it is still good old Snow. I'll always be thankful for my 2 years of college down there.

Fun at Grandma and Grandpas!

Ally and McKenzie
We had a great weekend down in Utah! We had a lot of fun playing with all of our cousins! We can't get enough of them. We can't wait to see them all again!

Friday night we were able to take Brayden and Kenzie to a Jazz game, thanks to our friends who gave us the tickets. We had a lot of fun! We drove down and met Glen and Katherine at Chili's -we had dinner with them, they took Max down to Grandma and Grandpas with them. What a game! What a fun time with the kids! This was the 10the consecutive win for the Jazz, they played Denver.

Mother Daughter Time

Saturday Kenzie and I went to the Mall shopping-we passed by those photo booths and she has asked me several times to get pictures, but who wants to pay $ 3 for pictures of yourself. It was girls day and we were going to have fun so we splurged.

$24 on a couple pair of jeans at Old Navy
$5 on flower accessories for hair
$4 pretzel and Diet Coke

Look on my daughers face everytime she looks at this picture PRICELESS!!!

In this crazy, busy world all too often we forget to stop an enjoy life---I am thankful to my 7 year old daugher who carries this picture around---and reminds me that it is the simple things in life that create the best memories.

Blue and Gold Banquet

Friday night we had the Blue and Gold Banquet, our family had a really nice time. The boys decorated a Patriotic cake with their Dads-for our dessert. The cakes were all awesome! Justin and Brayden did a great job!Brayden earned his Wolf, gold arrow, and a silver arrow. Only a few more weeks left of wolves. He is really enjoying scouting. Justin and I look forward to Bray coming into Bears, we are the Bear leaders.

Fun Date Night!

What a fun night we had - our ward had a dance a couple weekends ago. Justin and I had so much fun! We had a great time dancing, by the end of the evening we could remember some of our dance moves we used to do back when we would go dancing in Logan. (Neither Justin and I have any rhythm, we always say we dance to our own rhythm.) It has been a long time since I laughed so hard, we laughed at ourselves, and all the older couples out dancing us etc. Thanks to my awesome husband for making it such a fun night!
