We were able to decorate the graves of my Great Grandparents who are buried in Idaho Falls- the kids Great, Great Grandparents, and my Grandma's brother Vernon. We are the only family living in the Idaho Falls area, we always enjoy going to decorate their graves. Max is named after my Great Grandpa Jesse Short -Max Jesse Mecham.

Nate's Graduation!
Congratulations Nate! We are so glad we were able to attend Nate's graduation. He is a good example to our kids. He is so kind and patient-graduation weekend he took special time to spend with his younger cousins. He took them out for icecream, went on walks, played in the sandbox, and just made time for my kids. Thanks Nate! The kids all really love Nate and Zach and can't wait to see them again! What a wonderful weekend in Columbia Falls, Montana! Thank You Holt Family!!!

Glacier National Park
Our nephew/cousin Nate gradauted from high school so we decide to go celebrate with him in Columbia Falls, Montana. Saturday we decided to take the kids through Glacier National Park---it was beautiful, it rained a lot but it was beautiful. Zach came with us through Glacier we enjoyed having him with us. The last time Justin and I went through Glacier was when Brayden was 4 months old. It is truly breathtaking. Columbia Falls is SO beautiful! We were able to see lots of deer and a few elk. We had a wonderful weekend and the kids already miss their cousins!

Shelby
We finally decided it was time to put down our loved & loyal dog Shelby. What a difficult day it was for our family. Justin took her to the vet and had her put to sleep then he buried her out on the farm. Shelby was almost 14 years old we've had the dogs (Shelby and Pup) long before we had children. We know she is in a better place, we love ya Shelb!
We had a funeral service for her out on the farm. McKenzie took these last pictures of Shelby-she also wrote a song for Shelby I thought we needed to include the song on this post.
"Your on Your Way"
Your on your way to a beautiful place
where no one can hurt you inside.
where no one can hurt you inside.
Your on your way-the time has come I hope you had a good life.
I know you know that we loved you so.
I know you know that we loved you so.
But your on your way to a beautiful place where you will have no pain.
Your time has come I hope you know that we love you so.
You were the best we could ever have.
Fast, loud, loyal, amazing and nice and famous too.
But your on your way to an amazing place.
I know you know that We Loved You So!!!
Love,
McKenzie (age 9)

Family Fun Run
Eastern Idaho's Public Health District held a free "Family Fun Run" on Saturday at Community Park in Idaho Falls to help promote their "Get Fit In 60" campaign. McKenzie really wanted to participate in this run so we headed to Idaho Falls to race Saturday morning. Kenzie and I had a great time running the race. Kenzie received a t-shirt and photo autographed by Miss Idaho Falls. It was a fun morning and a great way to start the day.

Pacer Awards Assembly
Our good friend Brittany Foster started what is known as the Pacer program at our school. This program encourages children to get active-Thursdays during recess the students were encouraged to participate in the Pacer program. The students ran laps around the school and Brittany kept track of their miles. During the winter months an exercise program was implemented in the classroom. The students had a lot of fun-and appreciate all the hard work of the "Pacer Lady"-Brittany.
Brayden did a great job! Brayden placed 5th out of the entire school. He was the top runner in his class! He ran 13 miles-we are proud because he would keep running when hardly anyone his age would run. Bray received a basketball, blanket, swim passes, certificate, t-shirt, and a goodie bag full of prizes for being the top runner in his class. He was also able to throw a pie in the Principals face.
Good Job Brayden we are proud of you!
McKenzie was the top runner of the entire school!!! McKenzie ran 18 miles!!! She was the top runner of her class and the school. Kenzie we are so proud of you! Kenzie really enjoyed Pacers! Kenzie really pushed herself and always tried to get as many laps as she could during recess. Kenzie would hurry out after lunch and start running as soon as she could. Her hard work paid off-she was awarded a new bike. She also received swim passes, a certificate, t-shirt, and a goodie bag full of prizes for being the top runner of her class. Kenzie was also able to throw a pie in the Principals face.
Kenzie said when Brittany announced her name she just started shaking. McKenzie said she was still shaking with excitement when she threw the pie in Mr. Jensen's face. McKenzie was also awarded the top reader award from her class and got straight A's. Good Job McKenzie we sure are proud of you!!!

Yellowstone Bear World
Max and I were able to go to Yellowstone Bear World for his final field trip of the year. We had a fun time and I am glad I was able to go with him. The bears were all out wandering around, a lot of fun to watch. Our favorite part was watching the six bear cubs. Max also loved the moose. Fun times at Bear World.
