Pacer Awards Assembly

Our good friend Brittany Foster started what is known as the Pacer program at our school.  This program encourages children to get active-Thursdays during recess the students were encouraged to participate in the Pacer program.  The students ran laps around the school and Brittany kept track of their miles.  During the winter months an exercise program was implemented in the classroom.  The students had a lot of fun-and appreciate all the hard work of the "Pacer Lady"-Brittany.
Brayden did a great job!  Brayden placed 5th out of the entire school.  He was the top runner in his class!  He ran 13 miles-we are proud because he would keep running when hardly anyone his age would run. Bray received a basketball, blanket, swim passes, certificate, t-shirt, and a goodie bag full of prizes for being the top runner in his class.  He was also able to throw a pie in the Principals face.
Good Job Brayden we are proud of you!
McKenzie was the top runner of the entire school!!! McKenzie ran 18 miles!!!  She was the top runner of her class and the school.  Kenzie we are so proud of you!  Kenzie really enjoyed Pacers!  Kenzie really pushed herself and always tried to get as many laps as she could during recess.  Kenzie would hurry out after lunch and start running as soon as she could.  Her hard work paid off-she was awarded a new bike.  She also received swim passes, a certificate, t-shirt, and a goodie bag full of prizes for being the top runner of her class.  Kenzie was also able to throw a pie in the Principals face.
Kenzie said when Brittany announced her name she just started shaking.  McKenzie said she was still shaking with excitement when she threw the pie in Mr. Jensen's face.  McKenzie was also awarded the top reader award from her class and got straight A's.  Good Job McKenzie we sure are proud of you!!!
Kenzie's  new AWESOME beach cruiser bike, she has already made many laps around the subdivision!

Brayden and his loot of prizes!!!

The top runners were all from Grant!  Go Grant kids!!!
